Welcome to the 2024 Trout Unlimited Rivercourse Youth Fly Fishing & Conservation Camp

Sign your child up for a thrilling outdoor adventure at Rivercourse, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Designed for boys and girls aged 12 to 15, our camp combines the excitement and challenge of fly fishing with a focus on Stream Ecology and Cold Water Conservation.

At the heart of Rivercourse, held at the pristine Lake Logan Event Center in Canton, NC, is our commitment to Trout Unlimited’s mission: the conservation, restoration, and preservation of our precious cold-water ecosystems. This camp is located on an amazing stretch of privately owned waters on the West Fork of the Pigeon River.

Our action-packed six-day program goes beyond fishing. Campers will engage in unique activities like falconry, enjoy interactive conservation talks, and delve into river ecology, learning everything from water safety to insect life. Nights are filled with camaraderie and fireside stories, fostering new friendships and a deep appreciation for nature.

Rivercourse isn’t just about catching fish; it’s about nurturing a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship and enjoying the great outdoors. All skill levels are welcome, and you don’t need to be a North Carolina resident or a Trout Unlimited member to join.

Highlights include:

In-depth fly fishing and fly tying instruction
Hands-on conservation projects
Fun outdoor games and exciting wildlife encounters
Comfortable, chaperoned accommodations with all meals provided in a beautiful dining setting

The campers are lodged in cottages with four bedrooms. Each bedroom has a set of twin beds and a private bathroom. All linens and towels are provided. Meals are served in a modern dining hall, part of which is set up as a permanent “classroom.”

To ensure privacy, boys and girls are housed in separate cabins with same-gender counselors serving as their chaperones.

Secure a spot for your child today, and watch them grow their angling skills and appreciation for the beauty of nature. They will be ready to protect our waters for generations to come!
